What's Going On:

Hi everyone! I hope that you all enjoyed your Easter celebrations (no matter how you chose to celebrate) and you are soaking up this awesome spring heatwave we're having. We have some updates for you about both the Crab Feed and the Luncheon.

Crab Feed:
Thank you to all of you who are purchasing tickets and helping us promote the event. We truly appreciate your support and love. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, you can get them securely through PayPal on the right hand side of the blog and they will be mailed to your home. Tickets will not be available for the feed at the door, you must purchase your tickets in advance! This will allow us to order enough crab based off of an accurate headcount.
We are excited to tell you that the Crab Feed is now BYOB! If you have any questions about this you can email us at We will also be serving hot dogs, side dishes and non-alcoholic beverages along with your crabs. There will be a 50/50 raffle so bring your cash!

A big thank you goes out to all of our friends and supporters who have been using their contacts to solicit donations for our raffle and silent auction. Also, a big thank you to Trampas Ferree who has been helping us secure the live music for the day. You can listen to Trampas' music and other great artists on So, we have some fabulous prizes so far:

The Jedediah Thomas Smith Memorial Luncheon

A lot of you have been asking about our largest event, the Jedediah Thomas Smith Memorial Luncheon which was a great success last year and we're hoping will be again this year. The date has been set for August 27, 2011 and we are in the preliminary planning stages.

The Luncheon will be held at the Great American Saloon in Red Lion, Pennsylvania on August 27, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We feature live music, buffet style all you can eat food (usually casual fare such as salad, chicken fingers, pasta salad, mozzarella sticks, a variety of snack trays, meatballs, etc. and plenty of desserts) a cash bar, a large silent auction and raffle, face painting and t-shirt sales.

Last year we welcomed over 400 members of the community and beyond for an afternoon of honoring children who have lost their battle with pediatric cancer but whose spirits remain prominent in our lives. That one afternoon raised $11,434!

We are looking for raffle and silent auction donations for this year's luncheon.
Last year's silent auction items included: a four wheeler, handmade rag rugs, a handmade apron, handmade baby blankets, a Longaberger basket, a Pampered Chef basket, salon and spa baskets, home improvement baskets, jewelry, local art, three different wine tasting and winery tour baskets, a Crayola basket, a Dutch Wonderland basket, an iPod nano, a gym membership, a toy robot, a Penn State basket, a Baltimore Orioles basket, Hershey Bears tickets, and much more.
Raffle items included: gift certificates for massages, car maintenance, clothing stores and restaurants, sports tickets and jewelry.

To donate or for more information please contact us at Your donation is tax deductible and supports the fight against pediatric cancer. We will be updating frequently about the luncheon, our needs, how to donate and joining us for the day.

Thanks everyone!

- Savannah

Crab Feed Update

Hello all! I've got a little update for you and there will be more coming (of course) as we get closer to this crab feed.

We've made an adjustment to the ticket prices and added some kid-friendly options for our smaller friends. Tickets will now be as follows:

Adults (13+): $25.00
Children ages 5-12: $10.00
Children 4 and under: Free

I'm still waiting to hear back from Capt. Bob's about bushel prices and when I do I will have more information regarding quantity of crabs per person but of course I will keep everyone updated!
We will be grilling up hot dogs and serving some delicious side dishes (pasta salad, salad, etc.) as well as some homemade desserts.
