About Us

The Jedediah Thomas Smith Foundation was founded in early 2011 as a way to remember and honor the life of Jed Smith. Jed was a funny, life-loving twelve-year-old boy who lived with his family in Red Lion, Pennsylvania. Jed was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when he was four and fought his cancer valiantly for eight years. He lost his battle on January 3, 2010 and is missed every day. To learn more about Jed, his family and his battle with cancer please check out the "Meet Our Inspiration" page.

During Jed's eight year's of treatment at the Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA he always took time to focus on the other kids. He asked questions about how they were feeling even when he himself was feeling sick and tired. The Jedediah Thomas Smith Foundation embraces that spirit that was always present in Jed and works to support local children battling cancer as well as their families. We host fundraisers and raise money to provide monetary support, scholarships and gifts to the pediatric cancer community.

We are currently based in Red Lion, Pennsylvania and serve the communities of south-central Pennsylvania. For more information on our programs or to get in touch with us about providing support to your family or a family you know, please email us at jtsfoundation@gmail.com.
